Shop Til You Drop

What a busy day. My mom arrived around 11:00 a.m. We started out at Cynthia East and found some really cute fabric samples. Fabric always serves as an inspiration. It has to speak to us. From there we went to PC Hardware, Ethan Allen, Phoenix Interiors, Home Depot, Vivid, Cleos, Cantrell Design Center, and I can't remember the rest. Have you ever used the bathroom at PC Hardware???? If not, go there. It's an experience!! We stopped at an estate sale in Pleasant Valley, but it was pretty much cleaned out from the previous two days. From there, we decided to drive to Conway to see their selection of sofas and lighting. Jackpot!! I bought the most gorgeous sofa from Hambuchen Furniture in Conway. LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! And then.... we found the neatest track lighting at Lowe's for the kitchen and laundry room. YAY!! I can't wait to post a picture of my new sofa!!! Salvation Army will be receiving a call this week for an immediate pick up. My poor, worn out couch has been around since college and has survived many moves. I've been trying to focus on projects around the house. It feels so good to have motivation again. There's always something that needs to be done. The next project....Painting the kitchen cabinets. Might have to call Ken, the Paint Master, for that one.
Mom, you wore me OUT, but I had sooo much fun!!! Looking forward to the breakfast casserole in the morning. Dad, thanks for sharing her today and Scooter, thanks for picking me up in Conway. God has blessed us with an amazing family!! I am so thankful for all of the love that I have in my life. Not only do I draw strength from God, but my family gives me the support I need to get through these trying times. Life is Good and God is Great!! He heals all wounds. Happy Valentine's Day!! XOXO

Mary and Mallory are bringing McDonald's Happy Meals and Mr. Scooter will hopefully provide some entertainment!! Scooter and I are celebrating Valentine's Day tomorrow night. Maybe a nice dinner???? My mom is coming Saturday to shop for new lighting. I can't make any decisions without her. What would I do without her??? We desperately need an upgrade in our kitchen and laundry room. We had a wonderful weekend in Russellville. I got to meet Jayme and Carter Jones' new baby girl, Ellie. She's such a doll and I couldn't put her down. Jayme and Carter moved to North Carolina, so this was the first time I'd seen them since July.
Last night, we gathered around the campfire at the farm. Becky and I are PROS at starting a fire!! Could have been a disaster!! Luckily, Dustin and his wife pulled up just in time to tell us what to do!!
We had a birthday brunch in honor of my late grandfather. He would have been 91 today. Can you believe that? After stuffing our faces with blueberry pancakes, cheesy eggs, bacon, and sausage, we drove to the cemetary and Granny refreshed the flowers on his grave. We spent the afternoon with my other grandparents that live in Pottsville. My grandfather's dog, Freckles, is having puppies this week. YAY!!

"Love You a Bushel And a Peck And a Hug Around the Neck"

Click on the letter.

Tomorrow marks the day we lost my sweet grandfather. I can't believe its been one year. Granny, I'm soooo proud of you!! I remember you telling us over and over...."He had a wonderful life and we must remember that." I have so many memories, I don't even know where to start. These pictures show his happiness and love for life. He always greeted us with a kiss and a hug. He was obsessed with sugar and could eat an entire chocolate pie. Can you believe an old man would hide candy bars and sweets in his sock drawer? I loved when he picked us up from school because that meant---CUPCAKES from IGA!! We spent the Christmas before last with him , while Granny went to church. I will never forget that because we watched "White Christmas" in the back bedroom. I looked over at him and felt like the luckiest girl in the world!! He always told us how much he loved us and always wanted to know when I would be back to see him. I feel so blessed to have known my grandfather because he taught us so much about life and love. Here is a letter my grandparents wrote right before we got married. Emily B. put a scrapbook of letters and pictures from friends and family. It's a TREASURE!!! Below is a poem from the program. I read OVER AND OVER after he died. If you've experiences loss, this poem makes so much sense.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
