First and Last Day

Last Friday was the official "last day" of school before the summer program started at Easter Seals. It went by so fast and I can't believe how much Harrison has grown, learned, and changed so much. He started school sitting and by the end almost running and talking! I love LOVE his school! Here's a picture of Harrison's first and last day of school. Starting in August, he'll be in the Toddler room. He'll have the same teachers because they loop for 2 years.

I'm loving these summer evenings. Harrison is always on the go, so we headed to the pool again. He's more interested in throwing things in and out of it rather than being in the water.

I love watching him go up and down steps. As you can see from the picture, he's a little hesitant. He always looks at a step, says the word step, then goes for it!

He had chocolate pudding for dessert. This child loves anything sweet! I'm so proud of him using the spoon. This was a goal for OT. Keep up the great work Harry!!

Wild Child

Harrison had a great day at school. I received a "happy" note from his OT that said he's met almost all goals that were set for this summer! Yay! I'm so so proud of him.

We went to the store after school and had enchiladas for dinner. I included the recipe in a pic. While I was making dinner, Harrison managed to dump the entire box of Cheez-It's on the floor, spill my diet coke and stomp on most of it. I decided it was time to teach him how to use a swiffer. :)

We went swimming at the neighbors pool after dinner. This always leads to a good nights rest for him. I knocked out a mountain of paperwork yesterday with TEFRA renewal and my teachers license. Harrison had 3 Dr.'s appointments last week and received great reports. He's still followed by ACH Growth & Development, ACH Neurosurgery, ACH Dentist, ACH Radiology for Disphagia, and a Vision Specialist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, and a Physical Therapist!! He also receives Cognitive Therapy in the classroom at Easter Seals. He has the most amazing team and I'm SO thankful for these services!!

Summer

I'm a year behind and there's no way I can get caught up, but I might as well get started now!

Harrison is doing very well, cognitively and developmentally! He's walking, talking, exploring, making funny faces, and all sorts of new things. He loves books, especially turning the pages. Harrison weighs 29 pounds and eats very well. His language has exploded in the last few weeks. He can say mama, dada, up, dog, cat, hi, bye, what's that, and eat. He can sign more, eat, all done, and hungry.

I'm teaching a class about iPads this summer for a few hours each day. Harrison is attending the summer program at Easter Seals, where he gets physical, occupational, and speech therapy for a total of 360 minutes per week. I'm so amazed by this organization. It has been such a blessing for our family.

This next year holds lots of changes for us. We sold our house in Hillcrest and moving to WLR in July. I applied for a new K position and praying hard that I get it. It's my dream job!! Change can be a good thing and I'm looking forward to it.

Growing Up

My baby boy is growing up way too fast! He starts preschool in two weeks. It's going to be a big adjustment, especially for me. I'm looking forward to getting back on a schedule and excited for Harrison to be around other babies. But, it's going to be hard being away from him. I've never been away from him for more than a few hours. He's going to the farm tomorrow for a few days without ME!! This will be good for both of us. I'm meeting my parent's in Conway for the hand-off. He'll be crusing in his new carseat. Thanks mom and dad! I know he'll be spoiled rotten and prob not even miss me. We're having our kitchen cabinets painted and some other things done so we can put our house up for sale soon. Probably not good for a baby to inhale paint fumes. I'm also going to work in my classroom this Thursday and Friday. I can't imagine what it must look like.

Harrison is into everything lately, slobbering, and chewing on his hands and feet. He has bottom two teeth, which are so sharp! He still takes 5-6 bottles a day and cries when it's all gone. He's reaching for it and tries to lift it to his mouth. He loves baby food, especially squash. I feed him 3 jars a day. He cries when the jar is empty and it's a stage 2. He takes one afternoon nap a day and loves to sing himself to sleep. This boy doesn't want to miss a thing! There's something about the outdoors that totally calms him down. I thank God every single day for sending us this precious miracle!

Here's his latest pics.
