Little Whimper
I don't think I posted this to our blog... but, maybe I did. This was about a month after Harrison was born. He had the softest little cry and it would break my heart to hear it. I could barely hear him thru the isolette. Every alarm would go off when he got agitated and the nurse would sedate him with ativan or pain meds to provide relief. Sometimes he just needed a diaper change or turned to a different position. I remember being SO nervous changing those teeny tiny diapers. Now I just plop him on the changing table, floor, or couch, throw those legs us and clean that boy off.

Tummy Time
Look at Harrison doing so great on his tummy! We're so proud! We're so blessed to be with Easter Seals. I can't say that enough. He's getting closer and closer to rolling over from back to tummy. He can roll from tummy to back. He chose to sit-up before rolling!! He's got his own agenda.

Our story was published in the ANGELS Annual Report!
During our NICU stay, we were asked to share our story with the ANGELS Care Network. Dr. Wendel's Nurse Practioner, Stephanie Wyatt, asked us if we would be willing to do this. I immediately said YES!! Stephanie is very involved with ANGELS. The ANGELS mission is to ensure every woman in Arkansas at risk of having a complicated pregnancy receives the best possible prenatal care. While we live in Little Rock with convenient access to a specialist, not all pregnant Arkansans are so fortunate. The ANGELS Program enables all women in Arkansas with high-risk pregnancies the same level of care that we received. If we had lived in Fayetteville, Russellville, Jonesboro or Texarkana, I would have been cared for by a local OB-GYN with co-management and help by a UAMS maternal-fetal specialist. I would have been able to visit with the specialist via interactive video and my ultrasounds would have been performed locally and viewed in real time by the specialist. ANGELS also provides a call center to provide 24-hour support for physicians to consult with maternal-fetal medicine specialists when requested regarding patient management issues. As part of the ANGELS outreach effort, women seeking support for concerns related to their pregnancy, labor and delivery, or post-partum course can also utilize the services of the call center. How amazing is that?? My FAVORITE DR. in the world, Dr. Paul Wendel, has been with the ANGELS program since day one back in 2003. Wendel lends his expertise in maternal fetal medicine, high-risk pregnancies and multiple births. He sees high-risk patients at UAMS and consults with physicians around the state on high-risk cases. I'm so blessed to have him as my doctor. I'll never forget him grabbing my hand and saying.......I'm going to get you a baby!! Gives me chills just thinking about it.
We're so honored to share our story. You can click on the link below the pics to see a bigger version. I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste pics, so the ole iphone did the trick.
